DAY RETREAT: April 30
April 30 Weds. 9am - 3pm St. Timothy’s Church
Sadness, loneliness, frustration, anger and anxiety all carry their own unique expression. Whatthey appear to have in common is their power to consume.
YOGA and yogic understanding give us the opportunity to approach feelings in a constructive manner. Given that we can only change what we recognize, we begin with clear seeing. Looking spaciously into feelings, exploring them as direct sensation, can offer a means for both acknowledging the emotions without indulging them and encountering the emotions without drowning in them.
It is possible to explore the feelings as well as our reaction to them. These reactions are always based either in the memory of the past or in anxiety about the future. Standing firmly and spaciously in the present moment enables us to experience that change which only the conscious NOW offers.
Sutra 1:12 : By approach and detachment the movements still.
We will use Yogic Practices to venture into the realm of feeling feelings
Asana Self Inquiry Meditation Sounding Yoga Nidra
